Set Internal Point Form

The Set Internal Point form allows the users to define a point inside a user-imported CAD geometry. The solver uses this point as a seed condition to identify the interior of the geometry. By default this value is the centroid of the bounding box containing the imported geometry. For ring-shaped or curved geometry, where the centroid may exist outside the geometry, this point may need to be manually adjusted.

This is useful in many applications, such as particle and/or scale injection processes, where the solver needs to be able to distinguish a region within the interior of the CAD geometry from the exterior.

In the image below, the default internal point is set to the centroid of the manifold geometry, which falls outside the geometry.

In the image below, the internal point has been manually reset to fall inside the imported CAD geometry.
