Parametric Primitives¶

These are the parameters that define the child geometry. The categories, settings, and/or selections available within the property grid depend on the child geometry type, as listed in the catalogue.

Property Grid¶

`General`¶

Location: This parameter defines the position of the geometry mount point within the domain. Editing this value adjusts the location of the geometry within the domain.

If an object is selected from the Parametric Primitives group, the following setting will launch.

Primitive Type

This parameter defines how the primative geometry is filled. Two options are available: shell and solid. These options inform the behavior of the Trim command.

Shell: This defines the primitive as a zero-thickness surface.
Solid: This defines the primitive as a filled solid object.

These are the parameters that define the child geometry. The exposed parameters will depend on the geometry type, as listed below.

Cone¶

Length: Length of cone
Diameter 1: Bottom diameter
Diameter 2: Top diameter
End 1: Bottom end shape: Flat, Open
End 2: Top end shape: Flat, Open

Cuboid¶

A cube centered about its location

LX: Input Lx to geometry generation [Model Units]
LY: Input Ly to geometry generation [Model Units]
LZ: Input Lz to geometry generation [Model Units]

Cylinder¶

A cylinder with options for thin and thick walls, and additional options to control end shape presence and position.

Cylinder Type: Options for ThinWall and ThickWall
Diameter: ThinWall cylinder diameter
Inside Diameter: ThickWall inside cylinder diameter
Outside Diameter: ThickWall outside cylinder diameter
Length: Cylinder length
End 1: Options for Flat, Open. When using ThickWall option, the end thickness is set equal to the cylinder wall thickness.
End 2: Options for Flat, Open. When using ThickWall option, the end thickness is set equal to the cylinder wall thickness.
End 1 Offset: Detaches and offsets the solid end by specified value. ThinWall only
End 2 Offset: Detaches and offsets the solid end by specified value. ThinWall only

Flat Disk¶

Circular flat disk defined in the local plane X-Y

Diameter: Flat disk diameter

Plane¶

Rectangular plane defined in the local plane X-Y

Lx: Plane width
Ly: Plane length

Sphere¶

Diameter: Sphere diameter

Torus¶

Diameter: Torus diameter
Tube Diameter: Diameter of revolved circle
