Context-Specific Toolbar¶
In the context-specific toolbar, located directly under the main tool bar, the functions change according to your selections in the model tree. For example, if you select Main Lattice in the model tree, the context-specific toolbar will display the relevant forms for manipulating the main lattice.
All of the context-specific toolbar options launch forms in the property grid which are relevant to the selected parent and/or children.

Toolbar Selections¶
Below are all the possible toolbar options in alphabetical order. For a listing of which forms can be found with each component, see that component page.
Context-Specific Toolbar Forms |
Description |
---|---|
The Add Child Fill Point selects which space will initially be 3D-filled with a liquid. |
The Add Geometry form adds child geometry by importing from external CAD files, extracting from external CAD assemblies, or defining internally using built-in parametric geometry. |
The Add Particle Injection command adds an injection region to a particle parent. |
The Add Scalar Region command adds an injection region to a scalar parent. |
The Create Inlet form offers a link to the Inlet/Outlet Setup form directly from a child geometry. |
The Cut form cuts holes and segments from existing geometry. |
The Define Axis form specifies the motion axis mount point and motion vector. |
The Deformation form imports a series of deforming meshes. |
The Diagnostics form reports the position, orientation, and moments of inertia associated with a static body. |
The Edit Boundary Conditions Table edits the fluid types (in tabular form) associated with each boundary condition. |
The Edit Box form exposes handles along the six sides of the bounding box which can be dragged to stretch or move the geometry. |
The Edit Fill Points form defines the number and position of flood fill points in your system. |
The Edit Height form modifies the fluid height box. |
The Edit Mesh form modifies the resolution of the solid body surface mesh used in the simulation. This only exists on the parent geometry, and the children inherit the properties from the parents. |
The Edit Table form opens a spreadsheet to edit the global constants data in tabular form. |
The Explode geometry form decomposes a CAD geometry into its constituent solid surfaces. |
The Flip command changes the direction of the fluid flow through the inlet or outlet. |
The Help command launches the M-Star reference documentation in your web browser. |
The Inlet/Outlet Setup form defines where inlets and outlets exist along the boundary conditions. |
The Mate form allows surface-to-surface mating and alignment. |
The Moments form calculates the moments of inertia of a moving object. |
The Move form enables three-dimensional rigid body transform of object through free drag or point-to-point snapping. |
The Preview Flow form shows a preview of what the fluid will do at an inlet or outlet. |
The Recenter command snaps a plane to the center of the bounding box. |
The Reset form moves the object back to its world origin or aligns the object to the world-aligned axis. |
The Reset Box command snaps the bounding box back to imported static geometry. |
The Rotate form enables three-dimensional rotation of geometry. |
The Scale form enables volumetric scaling of a geometry about a set anchor point. |
The Set Internal Point form specifies an interior point for imported CAD geometry. |
The Volume Calculator calculates the fluid volume. |
