Parametric Tanks¶
These are the parameters that define the child geometry. The categories, settings, and/or selections available within the property grid depend on the child geometry type, as listed in the catalogue.
Property Grid¶
General
¶
- Location
This parameter defines the position of the geometry mount point within the domain. Editing this value adjusts the location of the geometry within the domain.
If an object is selected from the Parametric Primitives group, the following setting will launch.
- Primitive Type
This parameter defines how the primative geometry is filled. Two options are available: shell and solid. These options inform the behavior of the Trim command.
- Shell
This defines the primitive as a zero-thickness surface.
- Solid
This defines the primitive as a filled solid object.
Shape Parameters
¶
These are the parameters that define the child geometry. The exposed parameters will depend on the geometry type, as listed below.
Catalogue¶
Cuboid Tank¶
Cuboid tank is centered about its location. Options for end shape.

Cuboid end shapes for End 1¶

Sloped end dimension¶
- Lx
X dimension
- Ly
Y dimension
- Lz
Z dimension
- End1
Options for Flat, Empty, Sloped. End 1 is defined as the end in the positive Z direction in the local coordinate system of the object.
- End2
Options for Flat, Empty, Sloped. End 1 is defined as the end in the negative Z direction in the local coordinate system of the object.
- End 1 Height
Height of 4 sided pyramid end shape. See diagram.
- End 2 Height
Height of 4 sided pyramid end shape
Cylindrical Tank¶
A Cylinder tank with many options for end shapes and baffles.

Baffle dimensions. Single baffle shown for clarity.¶
- End 1
End in the up direction. End shape with options defined in below sub-section End Shapes
- End 2
End in the down direction. End shape with options defined in below sub-section End Shapes
- Baffle Number
Number of baffles. Evenly distributed around perimeter of tank.
- Baffle Width
Baffle Width. See diagram.
- Baffle Length Factor
Defines the baffle length as a fractional value of the Tank Length.
- Baffle Thickness
Baffle solid thickness
- Baffle Wall Offset
Axial offset of baffles from wall of tank. Positive values move the baffles inwards toward the center of the tank axis.
- Baffle Angular Offset
Rotational offset of baffles
- Baffle Axial Offset
Offset of baffles along the tank direction. Taken as a value relative to the bottom of the cylinder tank wall
End Shapes¶
Parameters below are given for End 1 for brevity. The same parameters are available for End 2.
Open¶
Open/empty end. No parameters.
Flat¶
Flat solid end. No parameters.
Conic¶

- End 1 Depth
Height of conic end
Dish¶

End shape is a spherical sector. The end depth is defined.
- End 1 Depth
Height of dish end
Ellipse 2 to 1¶

Ellipse end with a major to minor axis ratio of 2:1. An ellipse arc is then used to revolve a surface about the tank cylinder axis to generate the final shape.
Flanged Dish¶

A Flanged and dished end with a filet/knuckle radius. The parameters define a curve with 3 parts: Strange Flange, Knuckle, and Dish. The resulting curve is revolved about the tank axis.
- End 1 DR
Dish radius percent of Diameter
- End 1 KR
Knuckle radius percent of Diameter
- End 1 SF
Straight flange length
Flanged Only¶

- End 1 KR
Knuckle radius percent of Diameter
- End 1 SF
Straight flange length
Flared And Dished¶

- End 1 DR
Dish radius as percent of Diameter
- End 1 FL
Straight flange length
Flat Bottom Conic¶

- End 1 Conic Angle
